The ZiggyCam will be live for the month long trip. With the exception of when anchored after dark (i.e. saving battery usage rather than broadcast a cam feed of the dark) or during a rare lack of cellphone signal the cam will be live 24/7 along with the chat room even miles offshore. The soft goal this year is to hit Mackinac Island and round Drummand Island at the top of Lake Huron before heading back home to Detroit.
High winds and passing storms kept us at the dock again today. It turned into a lazy day.
At one point we decided to get some exercise and go for a walk... We made it as far as the pizza shop where we stuffed ourselves with a big ass pizza with all the toppings.
Then we each picked a couch and we napped through the next round of rain clouds.
We did finally get motivated enough to walk to the old lighthouse and check out some foot trails.
Then came nap #2... followed by a great dinner at the 4 star restaurant at the end of the dock and a few beers at the bar.
Jane is rolling in tomorrow morning so that will bring a new level of energy to the boat!
Weather permitting we hope to sail out before the end of the week and hit Hammond Bay by sunday.
Dear ole' Dad will slide in with Lenny on Sunday for the start of another weeks adventures.
The thought now is a lake crossing to Detour, Drummand Island and Harbor Island followed by a southern run to hopefully hit East Tawas in time for the blues festival.
