The ZiggyCam will be live for the month long trip. With the exception of when anchored after dark (i.e. saving battery usage rather than broadcast a cam feed of the dark) or during a rare lack of cellphone signal the cam will be live 24/7 along with the chat room even miles offshore. The soft goal this year is to hit Mackinac Island and round Drummand Island at the top of Lake Huron before heading back home to Detroit.
We woke early to a sunny day and headed out for a week of high adventure! We iced up the beer and stocked up on deli 
meat for sandwiches before casting off.
It is about a 40 mile hop or so that took us about 7 hours to do. Sunshine and beer were the highlights of the day.
We had a great day on the water and spent hours on the spinnaker tearing up the lake at a good clip.
It was a relaxing day on autopilot while Dad (Rich) and Lenny
got their sealegs back and remembered the lines and equipment on the deck of the old race boat turned cruiser.
It has been over a decade since I sailed into Hammond Bay. The marina has had a face lift since then and is a world class operation now out in the middle of nowhere.
We fired up a grill on shore and cleaned out the fridge of goodies until we had one heck of a BBQ picnic.
We were the only boat in the marina. Once the office closed we were on our own in absolute desolation! It was great...
After dinner we all took a long walk checking out the area before calling it a night to rest up for the next day's adventure 35 miles across the lake's open waters to De Tour Village in the Upper Peninsula and Drummond Island.
