The ZiggyCam will be live for the month long trip. With the exception of when anchored after dark (i.e. saving battery usage rather than broadcast a cam feed of the dark) or during a rare lack of cellphone signal the cam will be live 24/7 along with the chat room even miles offshore. The soft goal this year is to hit Mackinac Island and round Drummond Island at the top of Lake Huron before heading back home to Detroit.
Day10: Jane rolled in at about 11am to kick the party in gear. We were up but not active yet.
We spent the afternoon lounging and eating prime rib at the restaurant and drinking beer. We all strolled up to the old lighthouse and rang the bell and walked the lake bed left high and dry by the low water levels of the lake. We we in top sprits and laughing a bit too loud and not caring.
By 9pm Jane was out for the night and I joined Steve at the bar for another night of madness.
Upon being thrown out of the bar at 11pm we found Jane up with a second wind ready for a marina walk while Steve headed for bed.
Day11: Dad and Lenny rolled in in the afternoon ready for adventure. We got them settled in as Steve slid out headed south dropping off Dad's van in East Tawas on the way.
I threw together a great canned goods stew and we ate like crazy until we hurt from all the food. After hours of catching up the boys crashed out and Jane and I went up to wreak havoc with Jene' and Ray at the bar.
Once we were shooed out the door at midnite we took a walk out on the seawall with drinks and a blanket and spent hours soaking up the beauty before staggering back to the boat and hitting the sack excited about the next day's sail!
