The ZiggyCam will be live for the month long trip. With the exception of when anchored after dark (i.e. saving battery usage rather than broadcast a cam feed of the dark) or during a rare lack of cellphone signal the cam will be live 24/7 along with the chat room even miles offshore. The soft goal this year is to hit Mackinac Island and round Drummand Island at the top of Lake Huron before heading back home to Detroit.
Day four has been a lazy day hiding out on the dock watching the weather blow through
Steve rolled in about dinner time ready for a week of pillaging on the lake. He crewed up to this port last year and is fired up to so new places as we wander north
I fired up the tiny little dingy motor for the 1st time this year on the 1st pull!
That turned into a spirited dingy ride around the marina. Jane washed some travel dirt off the boat and I rigged a fresh hammock on the bow. The old hammock finally rotted from the weather over the years on the boat.
We made it up to Mitch's pizza for the best pizza in the tawas area and settled in for a lazy afternoon.
The storms chased Steve and I into the boat for shelter shortly after the girls went to the security of Jane's house. Jane has to work in the morning and is chomping at the bit to get out sailing next week.
Mondays weather is looking iffy. The half plan is to do some shopping and ready the boat for a Tues pillage north, woooohoooo!
