day 3 was an easy day of about two hundred miles to my destination of my dad's house in Massachusetts. I was glad I got a room early and saved the Catskills for the hot sunny day instead of pushing it the night before racing the sun and dodging the deer.

I was out of the room at about 10:30 ready to rock. I walked across the street to the outfitters shop to settle up on the room then rolled the bike out of the muddy parking lot and aimed her north up the mountain.

I was down to my last clean shirt in my bag and it was a sleeveless t-shirt that was a little chilly in the damp 68 degree mountain air once I was up to speed. I was digging out the leather within a few miles.

I ran up along side the Catskills National Forest following the Delaware River on US-30. It is a beautiful ride with a mix of long sweepers and a few sharp switchbacks thrown in at the back of the water filled hollows.

I made a stop in Margaretville Ny for a 12 pack of Yuenglings before I was out of the distribution area. I love this beer and wish I could get it in Michigan!

There I hopped onto US-28 and shot off into the mountains. The scenery was amazing and the road curved in and out of the valleys like a dream. I ran across a guy on his Goldwing and we played tag down the road all the way to Kingston.

There I hit my 1st dose of New York traffic and the traffic lights that compound the problems. The red lights last forever in rural NY. The traffic back up as far as the eye can see waiting for a green light. Once in sight of the intersection it will take 3 signal changes to actually get to the corner. I spent forever trying to get up state on the back roads and eventually gave up and punched up a freeway on the GPS.

I crossed the Massachusetts state line at Stockbridge Ma famous for the original "Alice's Restaurant" and Arlo Guthrie. An hour and forty five minutes later I was poolside at my Dad's in Holyoke Mass.
