Day Three:

Day 3 started off with a late start and a belly full of Waffle House goodness, flies and all. The trip into Texas was long and tiring except for the huge ass accident in Little Rock Arkansas requiring a medical chopper to land on the freeway in front of us.

Shortly after crossing into Texas I got a phone call letting me know the armed gunman the San Antonio SWAT team had barricaded in his home was my brother's stepson from a past marriage.

We took a break about three hours out of Houston; we stopped at a smoke house and ate plate fulls of unhealthy food...yum.

We rolled into Dave's about 9 pm and got to kick back and relax after a whirlwind trip from the Canadian border to the Mexican border.

The girls crashed out pretty quick after the Margaritas while Dave and I hung out till the wee hours catching up on lost years of our lives. We eventually realized I had a mother getting up any minute across town to come over and wake us up so we had better call it a night and get a nap in before the start of the Texas whirlwind that was headed our way.

It seemed like I had just dozed off when Dave woke me saying my Mom had called and was on the way....

Dave made an awesome breakfast with the best biscuits and gravy and grits we ever ate. Mom and Charlie rolled in as we were finishing up excited to head to the cabin.

An hour later we were having lunch at Pier 57 right on the coast of the gulf. Having just finished a huge breakfast didn't stop us from stuffing ourselves with the lunch special.

Soon we had the cabin opened up and paradise was open for business!

Now the sunshine, gulf breeze, crab traps and ants would be our world for the week!!!! Now the fun begins!!!!
