My Dad and his entourage from New England put together a family gathering. We rented out a huge chalet right on the Niagara River 10 minutes from the falls on Grand Island NY. we checked in on Saturday and rolled out on Wensday.

The accomodations were first class with the deck, grill and Jucuzzi being my favorite hang out spot. The kitchen was awesome and the bedrooms, rec room rocked too.

I'm an old hand at the falls on the Canadian side having spent many a New Years Eve partying there before the passport rules changed at the borders.

I crossed over the border across the Blue Water Bridge between Pt. Huron and Sarnia. I didn't have the required passport but took my Birth Certificate and blew right though without a problem.

The falls is only 4 hours out of Detroit across Ontario yet few Michiganders have gone out of the mind set that it is real far away.

We ate good, sat at the fire pit on the river bank. watched the fireworks over the falls and had a great time.
